Second round of sponsorships for Charity English School pupils
Wed 20th July 2016
SIX more pupils from the Charity English Medium School in Tanzania are to receive sponsorship from the Realising Dreams Foundation. It brings the number of pupils sponsored to 17 and means there are now no pupils in need of educational funding in the upper 3 classes at the school.
In December last year, the foundation announced 11 pupils in oldest three classes at the school would receive sponsorship to enable them to continue their education. This marked the beginning of an ongoing partnership between the charity and this ambitious and inspiring school in Tanzania.
Over the last few months, trustees have been delighted to see excellent school reports individually highlighting the achievements of each pupil. They have also been touched by letters written by each of the sponsored pupils expressing their gratitude for the support they now receive.
This month (July) the Realising Dreams Foundation has decided to extend their support to cover the remaining six unsponsored pupils from classes 4 and 5.
RDF Chairman, Ron Burges said: “It is obvious to us from the school reports and the pupil’s letters, that the children from the Charity English Medium School appreciate the opportunity they are being given to receive an excellent educational start in their lives.
“As part of our ongoing work with the school, we noticed there were still a number of other pupils in the older classes in need of sponsorship. These children are so close to completing their primary education and we would hate for them to miss out.
‘’It is often at this stage where families in Tanzania remove their children from school because of the financial burden and instead they begin working life at a very young age. That’s why we have decided to meet the costs to ensure that every pupil in the last three years of their primary education has sponsorship.”
The six new pupils being sponsored by The Realising Dreams Foundation are -twins David & Dorice (class 4), Shyness (class 4) and Asia, Vivian & Valentina (class 5).
